Anna began her professional career working in the Chicago area theatres for a few years. After that, she switched to TV and film. Anna's debut role was Arden as she appeared in Down the Shore. She appeared on 29 episodes. Following her appearance as a Guest Actor in a variety of TV Shows and films, such as Seinfeld and NYPD Blue in the 90's and was later chosen to play Jean Ward as part of The Practice. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood for two seasons. Skyler is the character she played in her Breaking Bad role from 2008. Sully was the Deadwood film and other films also featured her. Gunn has also appeared on the stage for David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. Gunn also appeared in the four-part podcast audio drama called Numbered Days, which was launched in 2022.
